Design Continuum applied pump technology from these medical products to create best selling basketball shoes.

Take the mystery out of innovation.  : Forum Dinner - THE GLOBALISATION OF CONTRABAND AND COUNTERFEITING: Victimless crime or tip of a criminal iceberg?
Presented by Mr. Michael McKay (McKays, Founex, and Vice President, Executives International)
Contraband is one of the oldest of trades. Counterfeiting is hardly new either. However, in modern times the scale of such dubious enterprises has been alarming. The range of products and brands that are now illegally made and illicitly trafficked is startling. Moreover, the use to which the money generated by such nefarious practices is put has obliged governments and law enforcement to pay much more attention to this matter than before. Organized crime exploits most effectively the free market, the power of brands, and over-zealous regulation.

The presentation will highlight the causes and effects of contraband and counterfeiting in a small selection of particularly interesting industries such as cigarettes, alcohol, pharmaceutical products, and luxury goods.

”... the new era in anti-doping promises to bring about even greater rewards to protect athletes’ fundamental right to clean sport, to catch cheaters, and to promote health, fairness, and equality for athletes worldwide.”
Richard W. POUND, Q.C
Chairman. WADA

“Think positive: The World of Sport and the Fight Against Doping”

Will elite sport become synonymous with a doping-prone environment? As athletes are subjected to the ever-increasing pressures of commercialisation and media influence, are the rules and regulations of the sporting world and present anti-doping legislation sufficient to prevent sport from becoming a modern-day Roman circus?
